End of an Era – Playgirl Magazine
Playgirl Magazine (not the website) has ended publication. I can remember being so excited when the first copies came out. I think I still have a few issues stuck away in a drawer somewhere.
From what I’ve read about the closing of the magazine it had been run by a small staff of women who were hoping to return it to its early form where it had more than just naked men. Playgirl had been purchased by a publishing company that deals with hardcore gay male entertainment and one can’t help but wonder if that had some influence on Playgirl coming to an end.
Luckily we still have For The Girls and Sssh for online entertainment that is created by and for women.
